Found dog, what to do?

1. Does the dog wear a necklace with a medal or a tube with an address ?

2. A dog can be tattooed in the ear or inside one of his thighs. If the tattoo is not very visible, ask a local veterinarian or shelter... It is free.

3. A dog that does not have a collar or tattoo can be identified by an electronic chip under the skin. You can show the dog for free at a veterinarian or in a shelter, in order to read an unreadable tattoo or chip. The veterinarian will thus have access to the details of the owner of the animal.

5. Post an ad on this website in the list of found dogs. Registration form » If you have found a dog with no identity, keep a special feature of the dog hidden (spot of color, old scar, colored collar, special medallion...) Masters can tell use this special thing to prove it is their dog. You can also ask the masters for photos of the dog or a copy of the vet book to reassure you that he is the real owner of the dog.

6. If the dog needs veterinary care, keep all the bills to get you refunded by the owner. You can not claim a fee as a pension, but only for food.
