Tick the boxes as you go, this page will remember your progress.
- ✓ Take a first full tour of the neighborhood, calling and whistling for your dog. Talk to the people nearby: passers-by, neighbors, shopkeepers... Of course, act as quickly as possible so that your dog does not wander too far as time goes by.
-
✓
If your pet is tattooed or microchipped, report its loss to the relevant organization in your country. While you are at it, check that your contact details (address, phone number...) are up to date.
- ✓ Check whether another user has already found your dog by looking at the list of found dogs or display all the ads for found dogs nearby on a map.
-
✓
Add your dog to the list of lost dogs. Posting the ad is free and it sets the community in motion. You can post the ad on the website » or on the mobile app.
Your email address is hidden to protect your personal data.
Once your ad is posted, you will automatically receive emails or notifications if a matching dog is reported found nearby. You will also receive a ready-to-print flyer. - ✓ Print posters. When you posted your ad in the previous step, we created a poster for you: you received it by email and it is also available in your personal account.
-
✓
Go door to door in your neighborhood with your posters. When you meet your neighbors, urge them to check their cellar, their garage and their garden shed. Leave them a copy of your poster. Also distribute your poster widely in the mailboxes of the neighborhood.
Put your posters up in strategic places too: bus shelters, shops, schools, cash machines, post offices, town halls... Put one on the rear window of your vehicle as well. Also see the complete guide to lost dog posters ».
Talk again to passers-by, neighbors, shopkeepers... and above all leave them a copy of your poster so that they can get back in touch with you. Indeed, they may not have seen your dog at that moment, but they might spot it a few moments later, so they need to have kept your dog's description and your contact details.
If they care about animal welfare, you can invite them to download the mobile app so they can take an active part in searching for and rescuing lost animals. They will then find your ad and be able to get in touch with you. -
